Travel Insurance Rebate Scheme
By now any cohabiting LIAS members who registered for the insurance rebate for 2009 will have received their cheque's.
To register for the 2010 rebate, please go through the same procedure, as the rebate is worked out from the month you apply, to the end of the year, it is important to re-register as soon as possible.
As you have only been advised of re-registration in February – any applications received prior to April will be backdated to January. Any registrations received from the month of April onwards will be calculated in the normal way.
Please be aware that if your personal circumstances change, which will affect your eligibility to claim, you must contact us immediately.
This scheme is limited to current subscribing members of the Insurance Benefit Trust (excluding those in their first 31 weeks of service or on maternity leave) who fulfil the following criteria:
- Persons completing this form must reside together as spouses or cohabiting partners only
- Both persons must be either serving or retired police officers and paying full IBT subscriptions in their own right
- Both persons completing this form share equal liability as to the correctness of the information supplied
- Should either of the persons in the relationship either;
leave the police service other than on retirement, separate or no longer reside at the same address, or cancel their Insurance Benefit Subscriptions - they must inform the Federation office immediately
- Any rebate will be at a time and in a form decided by the scheme trustees
This rebate will take into account the duplicate payments for the Family Travel Insurance, Red Arc Assistance and Legal Expense sections of the scheme.
To qualify for this rebate, you MUST register with us at Federation Office. Claims will not be back dated (otherwise than stated above) and will only apply from the month following your registration.
